Engagement Shoot on Venice Beach

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Most of our work is referral based, and that’s how we met this cute couple, Jessica and Corey. Jessica was a bridesmaid at a wedding we shot about 2 years ago near Thousand Oaks, California and when Mr Handsome, aka Corey, popped the question we were top of her list of photographers to call. Corey is on active duty in the Army and we had a small window of time available to shoot their engagement session and then get them a large print made and framed to use for their guests to sign at their wedding a couple of days later.

We LOVE beach shoots in the fall, the west coast light is fabulous in the hour before sunset – when we shot this there were two Hollywood movie crews shooting a few hundred yards away. I guess they were there for the light too :)

Dip the bride, groomie!

These folk LOVED to dance. And what great  guests! It’s true, you judge someone on who their friends and family are, and one of the reasons we love shooting weddings SO much is that we get to be involved in the very essence of our clients lives. It’s such an honor.

Evenings Eclectic at the Figueroa Hotel

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

There’s something unqiue about the wedding style at the Los Angeles eclectic favorite hotel, the downtown Fig. The quality of light, the overall vibe, the way that the staff make you feel so welcomed, all in all it’s got to be one of our favorite spots. More photos here from Christine and Kirk’s wedding.

The most crazy fun wedding party we have ever shot?

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

I can’t remember the last time we had this much fun doing the “formal” shots. Not that these are in anyway “formal”! What you can’t see here is that just as we set the area up to shoot these in the lobby at the Figueroa, 2 full busloads of Japanese tourists checked in and we had a constant stream of tourist snap shots going on behind us. It was hilarious! The cast, ie the wedding party were “working the crowd”, which is why these shots are so fun.

At the wonderfully exotic Figueroa Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Ya know, sometime you have to let the pictures tell their own story, introducing the wedding of Christine and Kirk…
