Last set of images from 2008, the photographers at work!

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

When we shoot a wedding with 2 or more photographers, inevitably we get in each other’s shots. As our events are edited we end up with a personal collection of “us at work” images that generally are of no interest to our clients, and here is the last set of us at work from 2008. We’d like to thank everyone we met and we photographed over the past year and wish all a happy and prosperous 2009. Let’s SHINE in 2009!

More shots of the photographers at work!

Monday, December 29th, 2008

When we look at these shots we are SO reminded of the joy of our work. It is an honor to be invited to capture the visual story for our clients, and many of our couples become longer term friends as we get to know them.

Us at work!

We’ve been going through the last year’s shoots for an update of our main portfolio web site and here are some shots of us on the job!

Elizabeth and Michael get their wedding album!

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

The most exciting time for us is the day that we deliver the final album package to our happy couples! This is when the job is really done, when we hand over all the pieces, in this case Elizabeth and Michael had chosen our top of the line package which included a 12″ x 16″ album, 2 parents books, a set of mini albums and a custom calendar. Here they are seeing their album for the first time. Oh, and fabulous news, Elizabeth is now 3 months pregnant! We are so looking forward to Naomi shooting their baby pictures!

Inn of the Seventh Ray

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

These are some images from a wedding we shot at another fairy-like magical venue, the Inn of the Seventh Ray in Malibu Canyon. We have shot there two or three times now, and have got to know the little quirks and corners of the place! Andie and Zeph’s wedding included a unique blend of different cultural traditions, and the ceremony took place in very low light. In fact the marriage vows had been pre-determined to be at an exact time, to the minute. We got to know this couple well, as we first shot their engagement shoot, then did a fabulously riské boudoir shoot, attended their rehearsal and then shot the big day.

Romantic Romantic Romantic

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

As wedding photographers, we are all about capturing the moments, the emotion, the way the day “feels” rather than making technically accurate but often clinical photographs. We think these ending shots reflect the way this wonderful day felt and the love and joy of this artistic and talented couple’s love for each other.

Reception at Union Station

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

After the ceremony we were off in the limo to Union Station. This might seem like an odd choice for a wedding reception, but it is one of the most evocative and special wedding reception venues we know of. Talk about perfect light, space to roam and of course the visual familiarity of the place from many Hollywood movies that have been shot there such as Pearl Harbor, Blade Runner, Star Trek, The Italian Job, the TV series 24 etc etc
